Who needs a meal plan?
If you’re a traditional resident student, you’ll need to be on either the 14 or 19 meal plans. First-year residents are automatically enrolled in the 19-meal plan for fall, January, and spring terms—it's part of making sure you’re well-fueled during your first year. Apartment and commuter students have the flexibility to choose between the 7 or 10 meal plans. Heads up: You can change your meal plan during the first week of the semester—after that, it’s locked in!
What if I have special dietary needs?
We’ve got you covered! At AVI Fresh, we believe food should fit you. That’s why you’ll find a variety of options tailored to different dietary lifestyles—including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-sensitive, and dairy-free meals—available every day.
Where can I use my meal swipes?
Your swipes are good at Hodson Dining Commons and at select retail locations across campus. Just look for the purple Meal Exchange icon! Seniors can use all their swipes at retail locations, while underclassmen can use up to ten retail swipes per week.I’m still hungry.
Can I use more than one meal swipe at a time?
Yes, but with some limits. Students can use up to eight meal swipes per day—two between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m., two between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., two between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., and two from 5 p.m. until closing.
Running low on swipes?
Don’t worry—you can still grab a bite using Dining Dollars, cash, or card at any dining location.
